Drained...
Contrary to popular belief, I did not have our pool drained because Karen & JR are having their pool resurfaced. Not the case at all. We had to empty it on account of the mess that our former puppies have done to it. Yep, Junior & Bowser are gone but they left a trail of damage behind. Some of them I believe, we have yet to discover. Really nasty, and it's worse if you see it in person.

We had the "pool guy" come out and look at it while it was still filled with mucky water. He said he was very surprised that the neighbors haven't called the Department of Health on us. Apparently there were tons of mosquitoes breeding in the water and he was very concerned about the West Nile virus. He said he wanted to drain that pool quick before the DOH does come and slaps us with a citation and a hefty fine. It took about 12 hours to drain. Here is a closer look at the sludge at the bottom.

Here's the other end of athe pool. There's muck all over the pool surface which cannot be seen in photos. The filters been cleaned as well. All we need now is to fill it up and balance the chemicals again. Sigh! This is such an ordeal. It may not seem like it but it is.

Well, at least when you get in our pool this summer, you're assured that the pool has just been cleaned, the water is extremely fresh and hopefully just the right temperature. Now we have to replant in the backyard since the dogs uprooted every little plant. Big job. Have fun this weekend guys. Hanggang sa muli, until next e-time...

It wasn't a rat. It was a dead mouse.

hmm...I'm still trying to figure out how dogs can ruin a pool...Pools are definitely a lot of work, but don't worry--you'll all feel so much better when it's all clean and ready and done!

There are ways and means for the dogs to ruin a pool, just by being dogs. No Lizzie, we did not take a picture of that disgusting creature!

I've never seen a more horrible pool. Good grief! My husband always refused to get a pool because it was too much work. Maybe I should admit he was right. It was swell to see you yeaterday. June

Wonderful to see you too Famous June! It was the dog's fault, not the pool. Pool isn't that hard to take care of.
